Our brother RASHID RAHIM - Thursday, October 02, 2008
 - It is with sadness and joy that we announce the passing of our brother Rashid Rahim this past week. He has been an integral part of the north church for the last twenty years and will be greatly missed. He was at the service last Sunday sitting at the back and chatting with the children and others. We say with sadness because we will all miss him and his uniqueness, but with joy because he has gone to be with his father in heaven, with the promise of a new body and none of the limitations and ill health that he had to live with for so long while here.

North London Church Weekend Retreat Minimize

3rd-5th October - Fairthorne Manor, Southampton

It's time to get away from London for a weekend of family, fun and fellowship at the North London church Retreat.

We are returning to Fairthorne Manor and looking forward to a spiritual and fun-filled time.  Details for the weekend are enclosed below.  Please be praying for good weather and safe journeys for eveyone.  There will be no service at Alexandra Park School this Sunday.

Retreat Information

Travel: (see Ola if you have questions about the coach or if you no longer require the coach)

Coach:  A coach (supplied by Southgate and Finchley Coaches) will be at loading at Station Road, Wood Green from 7:00pm. Please get there for 6:45-7:00pm. The coach will leave at 7:30pm (or earlier if everybody is there in time) and will hopefully arrive around 10pm. If you miss the coach you will need to get a train to Botley station. Do not expect everybody to wait for you because you are running late!

Driving: A406, M4, M25, M3, M27 (east) is probably the best route but you can check traffic reports e.g. http://www.trafficengland.com before you travel. Fairthorne Manor (postcode SO30 2GH) is just 10 minutes off the M27. Come off the motorway at Junction 7 and follow the signs for Hedge End, then Botley. Go straight through Botley village square, and follow the road ahead for about 200 metres. Take the next turning on the right - this is the A3051 to Titchfield, and is also signposted for YMCA National Centre. Go past the Pinkmead Farm Shop, and about 150 metres further on, take the second driveway on the right signposted YMCA.

There will be hot drinks and snacks in the main building when you arrive.

What to bring:
Warm, comfortable clothing that can get dirty/wet. Spare Underclothes/Socks
Trainers (2 pairs) one of which is suitable to get wet/dirty. Wellies (if you have them)
Waterproof coat and trousers (if you have them) in case it rains
Hat to protect against cold
Towel, soap and toiletries, water bottle
A black bin bag to put dirty clothes in
Pirate costume for pirate ship adventure playground (optional)
A positive attitude (especially for rainy weather

Accommodation: See Abigail on arrival to find out which room you are staying in

Activities: See Rob if you have questions
